APPLEBERRY MOUNTAIN
Display Only |
(Reed, 09) 36" M 6" semievergreen diploid, ext. sunfast Intense bright raspberry red with ruffles and a yellow throat narrowing down to green. It has some branching and a good bud count. It is easily fertile both ways. Bright color and open, graceful form make it show-off. The pollen parent was NATHAN SOMMERS, which gives us some beautiful red colors, and the pod parent was a dormant, hardy seedling out of Lola Branham and some red and pink seedlings ("Red Lola" x "Hot Pink"). |

FISH FACE
$125.00 |
(Murphy 09) 34" EMre 6.5" Sev Tet Cascade UF A wonderful feathered raspberry eye on a peachy cream background, completed by an orange throat. This long blooming cultivar has 4-way branching with 21 buds, perfect for shows. Very hardy here, out of ISLE OF DREAMS by WILD HORSES. It is fertile, and a good parent for cascades with eyes. Large single fans or possibly small double fans. |

MOSQUITO MANTRA
$80.00 |
(Reed, 09) 30" EM 7" dormant diploid, ext. A real spider, or "mosquito legged" daylily, I chose this one because of its deep loopy ruffles. Unlike the "shoe string" skinny spiders, this one has personality because of the ruffles. It is a pink-lavender, with a purple eye. Its skinniness makes it unusual among mine. It is a sib to VIRGINIA MOONSHINE, but a little shorter and a little less branching. It is easily fertile both ways. |

OUT OF SANE
$90.00 |
(Murphy 09) 37" Ere 7" Sev Dip Spider I am happy to introduce you to this great flower with a deep, wide green throat. Clear, light pink, with a rose band and that striking green throat. It is a 4:1 spider, with 2 branches and 16 buds under poor conditions, and more with good conditions. It is sunfast here, and fertile. It is out of MAD MAX by DESERT ICICLE, and should do well in a wide climactic range. Large single or small double fans. |

PALE BEHEMOTH
$125.00 |
(Murphy 09) 40" M 8.5" Sev Dip ext Cascade Unusual Form "Striking" well describes this huge cream flower with chartreuse throat and yellow midrib. The first bloom ever on this plant was so big I couldnt believe it. It has the habit of putting out extreme first blooms on every scape, and calming down to a tiny 8.5" on last blooms. It is a low percentage polytepal, so expect some surprises. As with some huge flowers, this one has a minimal 2 branches and 12 buds in poor conditions. It can have much more with excellent care. Fragrant, extremely fertile, and an excellent parent for huge cascades. Out of a Benzinger seedling (Bmlwhuf), by LUNA. Sunfast. Single Fans. |

SASKATOON
$100.00 SOLD OUT |
(Reed, 09) 36" M 6" dormant, diploid. Ext. Rich orchid purple, with great ruffles, this daylily has a big splash of a feathered darker purple eye, and some white in the throat. It has good branching (2 to 3-way) and bud count of 15-20. It blooms over a long season and is somewhat variable in form, hence was not registered as an unusual form, unlike its sibling FLIGHT OF ORCHIDS. It is sometimes a pinched crispate, other times a relaxed exotic form, or close to a cascade. The color carries across the garden. It is easily fertile both ways. One parent was an unusual form Jack Carpenter seedling. |

TREE TURTLES
$55.00 |
(Reed, 07) 56" L 5.5" dormant, diploid Quite tall, like pink turtles blooming on the top of 4-way deeply branched scapes (24 buds). Out of LOLA BRANHAM, this one blooms late and long. The blooms are not large, but recurved pink blend shells with darker pink stippling above a green throat. Its garden name was "Pink Towers". Fertile both ways. I am using it to bring pink colors into the tall cultivars. It was registered when I knew it would be an introduction, but it didn't get lined out for introduction until this year, because it blooms so late in the season. |

VIRGINIA MOONSHINE
$75.00 SOLD OUT |
(Reed, 09) 40" M 8" dormant, diploid, ext. Pale, tall, and stunning, this narrow-formed, ruffled daylily is a "blonde-pink" with a wine purple band on the petals. It has excellent 3 and 4 -way branching, with a good bud count of at least 20. Its garden nickname was "Blond Architecture" because of the good scapes. Not narrow enough to be a spider, it is a large, open, exotic star. Blooms into the mid-late season. |
