SURFIN DUDE
$40.00 SOLD OUT |
Murphy, 07 - 36" La 7" dor.dip. Bicolor lavender and reddish-purple. Fertile, good grower This lavender and reddish purple bicolor has a purple eye and a chartreuse throat on well branched scapes with good bud count. It has an unusual look, and attracts attention from far away, like it's sibling, OCEAN SPIRIT. It is sort of that crazy relative that we all have on one side of the family, a little bit different, hence the name. Fertile, good grower, out of (Grey Witch x Magic of Oz) x Loch Ness Monster. This plant has proven to be an excellent bud builder, staying in bloom until frost. On hot days, the throat area of the sepals turns a cream color. I have never seen this on another daylily. Generally, petals and sepals fade equally in the sun. |

TECH COLORS
$100.00 |
Murphy 2010 41” M 7” SEV Tetraploid Cascade Unusual Form Thank you to Glenn Pollock for pushing me to introduce this one since its maiden bloom. It has proven to be remarkably visible in the garden, due to the tall scapes, bright orange color and striking, feathered reddish purple eye. It has colors matching Virginia Tech’s colors – blasphemy!, here near UVA! 3 branches and 18 buds, that bloom long and slow, for a long season. Sun-fast, out of (ISLE OF DREAMS x TET CORAL CRAB) X FISH FACE. Unique genetics make this great garden plant also a hybridizer’s tool. Pollen fertile and pod possible. ONLY 2 PLANTS AVAILABLE. Limited |

THANKS MR. WIZARD
$20.00 |
(Murphy, '05) - 44" EMRe 8" semi.dip. Clear lavender and creamy lavender bitone, dark eye, lt. green throat. Smooth, clear lavender and creamy lavender bitone with a dark lavender eye, chartreuse throat, and green heart. This is the narrowest of the siblings, but did not make the 4:1 spider ratio. It is large, graceful, and tall, and has a very long bloom season. Three branches, 26 buds, instant rebloom, vigorous growth, and good foliage, makes this a winning daylily. It is fragrant, has extended bloom, and has sturdy scapes holding graceful blooms. Parentage: RADIANT MOONBEAM X MOUNTAIN TOP EXPERIENCE |

THANK YOU DAD
$140.00 |
(Murphy 2012) 45" Late 9" Dormant Diploid Fragrant Spider I consider this to be my best offering in several years, not only because of the grace and beauty, but performance as well. This lavender cream reverse bitone spider has lavender edged sepals, and faces out, toward you. It is a narrow, 5.6/1 ratio spider, but doesn't look it. 2 branches, 19 buds. It is my best bud builder, going until frost some years. It is sunfast at 95, perfect at 9pm, rain resistant, and blooms up to 10 weeks. One of my best parents ever, but only pollen fertile. This will sell out, so order soon. Out of JELLYFISH JEALOUSY by NORTH WIND DANCER.

THE LIGHT DAWNS
$100.00 |
(Reed, 2013) 42” EM 6” semi-evergreen, diploid (?) Unusual form cascade. The Light Dawns is a lovely, pearly cream with a light yellow appliqué pattern in the throat, and a subtle violet eyezone edging the appliqué. It has 3 branches and 22 buds and is pollen and pod fertile. The color is stronger on cold mornings, and in the heat it becomes almost white. I registered it as a diploid, but it sets pods and produces viable seeds with both tets and dips. Because the parentage was unknown, and not many diploids have appliqué throats, I tested it with both dip and tet pollen to decide on its ploidy. I still do not know for sure, since both worked. In spite of its indeterminate genes, it makes a great garden display, and is fun to play with. Double fans |
