GNARLY GNOME
Display Only |
Reed, 2006 - 52" Mla 6" dor. Dip. Unusual form, pink with rose eye, quilled sepals sculpting GNARLY GNOME has been affectionately known as "Scrunchy" for several years (garden name). A personal favorite, it is tall, well branched, and is a consistent unusual form (pinched and quilled crispate). The colors are soft - ancient pink shades with a cream throat. Its outstanding feature is the form - the sepals pinch and quill, and the petals "scrunch" a little near the throat. Definitely unusual, especially at its height |

HARD TIMES
$50.00 |
(Murphy ‘09 ) 52” LRe, 6.5” Dor Dip Cascade Unusual Form, ext. Bright light purple, reddish lavender. Yes, many people have hit hard times in the past two years. I decided to introduce this $100 daylily for half of that, because it grows very fast and it will let some of us buy it that maybe shouldn’t otherwise. In addition, if you purchase a $50 plant from us this season, you will get this in addition to another bonus. This very tall reddish lavender has a purple eye, cream edge, chartreuse throat, and instant rebloom, for a long season, starting one month after peak and going until mid September here. It is an EMO/CMO, good for cool nights and is sunfast at 98F. Parentage unknown, but probably PLANET MAX and a seedling. Fertile. |

HARDWARE RIVER
$25.00 |
Reed, 2006 - 30" La 6.5" dor.dip. Unusual form spatulate, clear red HARDWARE RIVER may not be a very poetic name, but it is a lovely mountain stream that runs through out property, and on to the James River and Chesapeake Bay. It usually has very clear water, except after storms. The daylily of the same name has exceptionally clear red color. Not very tall by our standards, it has extremely good branching and bud count, and displays the blooms nicely. It may be a spatulate - open in the white throat, and widening out onto the ruffled petals, showing lots of color. The buds begin to open the day before and show ruffles early. |
